TOHLE FUNERAL HOME was founded in the Mayfair Neighborhood of Chicago during the Depression at the corner of Kostner and Lawrence. It was located in a store front operation that was typical for that day.

In 1955, when the new funeral home was built at the current location of Lawrence and Lowell in the neighborhood of Mayfair, their nephew, Michael J. Coleman, joined the firm.

After the death of Edward Tohle in 1976, Kenneth C. Halter came to work for Michael J. Coleman until the time of his death in July of 2001. Kenneth C. Halter is the current owner of TOHLE FUNERAL HOME.
